David Korins is co-founder and producer of Edge Theater Company, as well as a freelance scenic and production designer based in New York City.
David Korins is the founder and principal designer of David Korins Design Inc. He is a designer who moves between the worlds of theater, film, television, dance, music, events, furniture, and commercial and private spaces.

As a theatrical scenic designer David has designed New York and/or world premieres of works by playwrights including Adam Bock, Glen Berger, Caryl Churchill, Don Delilo, Christopher Durang, Will Eno, the Five Lesbian Brothers, Noah Haidle, Jordan Harrison, Ann Marie Healy, David Henry Hwang, Charles L. Mee, Adam Rapp, Craig Wright and many others.

David has received three Drama Desk nominations, a Lucille Lortel nomination and the Henry Hewes Design Award from the American Theatre Wing. David has been profiled in many regional and national publications and in 2003 was named Scenic Designer to Watch by Entertainment Design Magazine.

Regionally David has designed shows including Miss Witherspoon (McCarter Theatre), Falsettos and Sisters Rosensweig (Huntington Theatre), A Number (ACT), The Violet Hour (Old Globe), Finn in the Underworld (Berkeley Repertory Theatre), Diary of Anne Frank (Paper Mill Playhouse), Gompers (Pittsburgh City Theatre), Bug (Syracuse Stage), Sleuth (Bay Street), Christmas In Naples and Diva (Williamstown Theatre Festival), Romeo and Juliet (Theatreworks), Batboy and A Bright Room Called Day (Yale School of Drama) and many shows at Southern Rep in New Orleans.

Internationally, David's work has been seen at the Soho Theatre, London and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. David spent five seasons at the Williamstown Theatre Festival where he was the head of the Scenic Design Department.

David's production design work has been seen in the feature film Winter Passing starring Will Ferrell, Ed Harris, and Zooey Deschanel, the feature film Blackbird, on the HBO Sunday night series Family Bonds and on the BRAVO television series This Evening With These People.


In addition to film and theatrical design, David has designed large-scale renovations for both private residences and corporate offices including custom furniture and finishes.

He has been a guest lecturer at the Broadway Master Lighting class, Tulane University, Loyola University, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Williams College and is a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829.
